Playing Hookey

Cubs win the World Series! No more “Wait ’til next year.” Congratulations to them- and the city of Chicago.

And now…

Dear Readers, Please excuse Ellen today. She couldn’t write the blog because she is unexpectedly out of town and the dog ate her computer. Please give her an extension on her homework. She will be back on Sunday, November 13.

Thank you, Mrs. Roffe

  1. Well, Ms. Ross and Mrs. Roffe, Congratulations on the Cubs! Hopefully you won’t have to wait 108 years for the next one.

Could you clarify once and for all your relationship to Cubs backup catcher David Ross, the oldest player on the field in the final game of his career.

I guess that you have a Cubs hangover like the rest of us! Not from the celebration champagne, but from biting our nails while riding the rollercoaster for three hours! Our whole family of 20 people gathered to laugh, cry, scream and celebrate and today we all feel like we have lived a dream. My grandson, Jackson, found a cheap air fare and flew in from New Orleans, just to hang out in Wrigleyville for 12 hours. When you are 19 no sleep is required. Yea Cubs!
