Hi, everyone. Β In case you don’t recognize us, that’s Carly and her Gran last month. Β She was born the day after Mother’s Day this year and what a nice gift, don’t you think? Β I’m grateful, that’s for sure.
As a matter of fact, I’m grateful for many things this year.

Thank you, Ellen — you clearly have a lot to be thankful for. Moi, about to head to the MSP airport and then fly to Chitown to rendezvous with a subset of my family. Probably won’t see your response until we land at Midway. You just have to make those captchas easier, though.
Thanks, George. Have a wonderful trip in our fair city with your clan. Sorry about the difficulty level of the captcha. Can’t you find a math tutor on that campus of yours? Maybe Ben can help you.
One thing about having a puppy is that I get to read (or in this case, listen) to your blog post much earlier in the morning.
I’m glad you have a boyfriend, but I do miss reading about your dating misadventures.
As for selling things that are old that I don’t want anymore, you reminded me that I need new underwear. Thanks for that.
Finally, and I really do mean this, I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving and that great things happen to you in the next year.
Thanks, Steve. Thanks for all your support throughout the years. Your comments have been a great addition to the blog. And congrats on Bullseye. Glad he adopted you! πΆ
Thank you for your very positive take on the past year. I hope we can all say the same next year too. You did omit the Chicago high point of the century… THE CUBS! Five million happy people joining to celebrate a what has been a once in a lifetime event certainly took the edge off a crazy political season. We are all thankful for that!
Wishing you the best for the holidays and hope to see you soon.
You’re right, Vivian. And thanks. I did forget the huge news about our Cubbies. Forgive me. And yes, we will have to “wait ’til next year” to see what this election hath wrought. But in the meantime, let’s all celebrate today our precious family and friends- like you.
You are so right… In the end, it is family and friends that make it all worthwhile. The best to you and your family.
Amen. ππ
Sweet!! Happy Thanksgiving E!!
Right back at ya’ DP! Love to the Paul Gang. ππ
You and me both
Glad things going according to plan
Everything good here
Still waiting to get together either with or without
Luv Ya
Ditto. Today is a day to count our blessings. Family and friends being in the top two. Thanks, Jess. I’m grateful for friends like you.
Happy Thanksgiving E. And yes you did forget about our beloved Cubbies….but that’s alright…today is really about family and friends. Hope you have a great day and congrats on your new romance. Just so happens, I am getting close to that myself, but time will tell….at this age I take it all in stride….not my first rodeo as they say. Take care.
Thanks, Steve! Yes today’s post was more about my journey this year but you just nailed it. Family and friends. Two of the greatest blessings. (The other bring health, I think.) I’m grateful for all this year had to bring. Happy Thanksgivjng to you and yours. And fingers crossed on your new romance. ππππ
Dear Ellen:
You said it all … and having read sooo many blogs in sooo many years, this one tells
all your friends and all your readers, same folks no doubt, what an amazing year 2016
has been … and we all share those special Thanksgiving thoughts with you …
and are optimistic, both with you and for you, that 2017 will continue and contribute to another year of wonderful surprises … Love, Joan
